Employee Retirement System
With the state’s public employee retirement system, employees are entitled to receive a 75% average of their pay as retirement after working within the public sector for 33.5 years. This benefit is a great alternative to Social Security, allowing you to “buy out” a few years of retirement, while also giving you the opportunity to retire way before the Social Security’s minimum age requirement. Employee Assistance Program
Both you and your family members are eligible to utilize the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offered through ComPsych (GuidanceResources Online). The EAP program offers a combination of in-person, telephonic and online resources, at no cost.
Vacation and Leave
During your first two years of District employment, as an eligible full-time permanent employee, you earn vacation credits at the rate of 3.08 vacation hours for each biweekly pay period. Once you have been employed by the District for more than two years, you earn 4.62 hours vacation leave per pay period. Additional amounts of leave are given after completion of 8 and 15 years of service.
Eligible employees receive 3.7 hours of sick leave for each biweekly pay period. Once you have been employed by the District for 10 years or longer you will receive an additional .92 of sick leave per pay period.
